WHAT IS BHAKTI
Bhakti means divine love—the love already present in every heart. It is the deepest joy we seek, the true fulfillment of the soul (atma). While worldly things may satisfy our senses for a time, only love can truly satisfy the heart. Bhakti is the pure love that connects our real self to God and, through that connection, to others in a meaningful way.

The 12 Steps of recovery share many principles with Bhakti Yoga and Krishna Consciousness.
As we move through the steps, we surrender our ego and ask Krishna for guidance.
This mirrors the bhakti path of humility, honesty, and service.

In BRG meetings, we learn to be open and vulnerable—just as bhakti encourages us to be honest with ourselves and surrender to Krishna. Having a sponsor is like having a spiritual guide or guru—someone who helps us stay grounded and focused on our spiritual path.

Our main goal is to reconnect with Krishna and center our lives on devotion. Through prayer, meditation, and chanting the Holy Names, we deepen our relationship with God. Over time, this process helps remove ego and attachment, bringing healing, clarity, and peace.

Transformation takes time, but with steady effort, we begin to live with gratitude, seeing even our struggles as part of Krishna’s loving plan.
